Help me make my "slice" of sheet metal!

Ok I'd like to start a new thread for this one. I've attached a pic of what I'm doing. Basically it looks a bit like a football. I made these arcs and want to connect them via lofted bend. Panel 1 seems to be fine (maybe because the arcs do no connect at the ends?).

I create a new part in my assembly and make more arcs, about 20 degrees from each other. Now I cant loft bend them. I'm thinking because they connect at the end solidworks does not like it. What should I do?

I think I may have found a way around it. I essentially drew tiny "circles" on the end of my arcs so that they sit on the edge of the circles (I chose quadrants for consistency) so that the ends don't actually touch each other, and was able to have the loft work. This doesn't seem like the right way as the corners are now cut off but its a small project so why not...
