Help creating a Creo drawing using .dae reference

Hello Everyone,

I am working on a project and am looking to use a .dae file as a reference to build the splines of my aircraft. I have tried converting it to something that Creo uses like wavefront .obj, but then get an error stating "Can't open OBJ". Can someone help me with this?
