Help about modelling concrete!

Hello everybody!

I have some problems with ABAQUS concerning how to modell cracks and reinforcement in concrete.

I have used shell elements for the different concrete parts, but is there anyway to modell single REBARS in shell elements without using rebar layer??

I also wonder about how to modell cracks in concrete when tension failure is decisive, how to do this??

And which step can one use to make the crack modell working??

I'll be very greatful for answers...

Hi!

Have you tried to use concrete smeared cracking with static Riks.

I do not know the anser to the rest of tour questions but I hope someone else will help you.
