Wow I hope someone can help here!
I have been doing fibre terminating for about 10 years now for what it is worth.
Just finished a job doing 1000+ spliced terminations using pigtails.
Started testing today and realised the pigtails supplied were 50/125 which I have joined to a 62.5/125 cable!!!!
Cant believe I didnt notice earlier on.
The maximum run is 145mtrs and I am getting about 2.6 db loss (ILM test uncluding both terminations and splices)at that length at 850 which I wouldnt normally be too worried about as I have got the same sort of losses on much longer 62.5/125 links before so I guess the customer isnt even going to notice.
Question is am I missing anything here and should I be worried considering the job is basically the backbone for an entire campus (1000 users +)
Are the Ops guys going to notice any unusual error counts on their switches?
Hope someone can put my mind at reast ..............
