could anybody suggest to get some information on the design of helical type stair (supports at top and bottom only)? what's the concept, theory involved in designing such stair?

SunnyShine

You can refer to "Reinforced concrete designer's hand book" by Chrles E Reynolds(Table 176, p-448, ix edition, Cement and concrete association, Wexham Springs, Slough)

CHANDRA

Thank you for your valuable suggession. Could you please suggest a web site related to this?

Here are some sites that might help you.

Don Leffingwell
dleffingwell@snet.net

<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> HREF=" TARGET="_new"> HREF=" TARGET="_new">

SunnyShine

Sorry, I have no idea about any web sites. The book I referd to is a quite old one. But I happen to come accross the site http:\\<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> where they talk about a software for the design of helical staircase in addition to other tools.

Look for Design Charts for helical stairs with fixed supports by A.R. Cusens & S. Santathadaporn.
