Helical cold coiled springs specs

hello everyone
I would like to know if there are some tensile resistance specification to cold coiling spring raw material; i mean, must be the hardness high or low? in order to reach a final hardness betwene 48 - 52HRC

As I understand your question, you are asking if there are specified hardness or UTS ranges to facilitate cold coiling. The answer is no. In my experience in the spring industry, any spring coilers are capable of cold coiling any of the available spring wires. The only thermal treatment performed on springs after coiling is stress relief and that does not generally affect spring hardness (music wire and hard drawn wire being the exceptions).

I am just to buy a raw material for cold coiled spring, but i don´t know the raw material hardness specification, the final coil spring specification is near 50HRC. Could you please let me know if I have to buy this material with the hardness value near the final specification.

Spring wire is supplied to a specific tensile strength rather than hardness. If you buy chrome silicon spring wire, it is not uncommon to find this material in the range of Rc 50. You really need to get better definition from your customer about what spring properties are desired.
