Can anyone tell me how the E.G. Slope is calculated. In my paticular model the E.G. Slope is not the same as the channel slope and i am having a hard time figuring out how HEC RAS is determining this.

Refer to Chapter 2 of the HEC-Ras Hydraulic Reference manual.

E.G. slope includes velocity head. So E.G. slope will vary as velocity changes. Besides, do you really need the EGL? For most purposes, water surface elevation is all you need.
