I thought I had replied to this thread before, but it looks like my reply did not go through.
First off do a search for timber decking. Recently someone asked about developing diaphragm action by gluing the tongue and groove.
Basically the shear values a very low unless the deck is applied diagonaly. Your main option is to use glue or to apply a plywood topping. In many case the plywood will be more economical.

I know this is a bit dated thread but we just got from a local Glue-lam person a document that outlines using T&G decking for diaphragm shear action - provides 400 plf based on a particular connection scheme and a 3/8" bead of glue along the top of the tongues, forming a vertical glue joint between the top lams of the laminated decking.
The problem here is, that it is simply a brochure from a company that sells decking, and doesn't include any ICBO or ICC validation.

The Forest Research Laboratory of Oregon State University plublished a report in 1968 regarding some testing they did on 3" decking with adhesive to evaluate the diaphragm performance of that type of system. Potlatch and 3M donated material for the testing.
In the past Potlatch published IBCO Research Report No. 1379 covering a glued diaphragm using 3" decking. It is my understanding that Report No. 1379 was not renewed because the glue specified in the report is no longer used..
The Potlatch system was based on the use of 3M 5230 which 3M no longer manufactures. There are some people who are still using the system by subsituting other glues for 5230.
In the past Potlatch sold their decking line to Disdero.
Disdero or another decking manufacturer could be contacted for additional information.
