HEllo all,

I want to know if you recommend to use some kind of heat treatment after the process of bending a pipe. For the bending I am using heat to put more ductile the material.
The material is Carbon Steel (api 5l).

thanks in advance.

Don't just try this. There are companies that do this for a living and codes asme b16.49 and ISO 15590.

Get it even a bit wrong and you can have a disaster on your hands.

I hope this is quite clear.

API 5L covers a vast array of low carbon alloy steels. Which grades A B? or X60, X70? How much heat are you applying? What temperature? What's the diameter large or small? What's the thickness? Are the pipes welded or seamless? As LittleInch stated, "...you can have disaster on your hands."

Reinforcing "All of the Above."
The effect depends too on how hot, how long, how much of what diameter of bend on how thick a pipe?

What "might" be alright in one case, is wrong on a second and deadly wrong on a third.

Looking through your post history I can see you're a young engineer. Do you not have someone in your company to ask these sort of questions? Getting training like this from the Internet is not the best way to proceed.

A bit of background as to why you're asking the question helps a lot.
