If a copper conductor (rectangular bar) is carrying current, how to calculate the temperature rise and also heat transfer from the conductor to air?.
This is a problem from switchgear. The aim is to find out the temperature distribution inside the switchgear. How the conductors are getting heat up, temperature increase of air inside the enclosure and the enclosure walls.
Please give some suggestions what approach should I follow.

An approximate calculation one may follow the IEC 60394-1/2. See
Legrand Construction and certification of assemblies according to IEC 61439-1/2
