Hi,

Steel beam is to penetrate an exterior wall. Architect stated that there are special thingies to be bought to place in the beam to insulate the cold bit from the warm.

I.e. a beam joint that reduces heat loss through the steel.

Anyone heard of these?

Well, apparently the architect has. Why not ask him?

He's just "heard of something".
