Hello,
I never got this question from any client, but aren't we always calculate the duty of each process using Q=m x Cp x dT and this Cp we would usually used average between inlet and outlet? We received one question why are we calculating our duty using ONLY inlet side of the specific heat capacity.
We already proposed a size of a heat exchanger and the duty we got is much more lower than their duty, which is true because they are using ONLY inlet specific heat capacity.
Any one had a similar experience having difficulties justifying that for duty calculation it is a common practice to use average specific heat capacity?
