I need to know head loss through a circular hole on a 1/2" steel plate. Across the plate water is flowing through the hole. Flow rate is 1000 gpm and hole diameter is 5". My calculation is like this.
H=1.5 x V^2/(2xg) = 6.2 ft. Am I right?
Any suggestion would be helpful.

Shmulik,

You introduced a useful site to me.

Thank you.

By the way, the result was the same as my first calculation.
