Good day All,
We are currently evaluating a build/buy for a UL 148 Diesel Tank. We are not located in USA so local fabrication may be significantly cheaper.
The tank volume is less that 1000 Gallons and I was wondering if we need to use heads or can use flat plates for the endcaps.
In UL-142, particularly Figure 6.2 there appears to be a requirement for a straight face of 2in. I have never seen this done in my country and typically a plate is welded to the shell.
Is there any reason to believe that this is not acceptable?
