This is the first time this I have ever had to procure a weldment outside the USA. It is comprised of 9 parts, all T304, which is required to be powder coated afterwards. W are ordering 200 weldments.

What pitfalls should I be aware of?
What are the common;y overlooked aspects regarding specifications to use?
Do I have to specify packaging for transit?
I don't know what else I don't know... please enlighten me.

" shipping from China to Brazil"

So why not just have the welding done in Brazil?

MJ, that is a question I initially asked too. Powers That Be trust the Chinese quality will be better and still cost effective. Also, Brazil is the first location of this product, with other countries to follow. It makes more sense to have the process and quality nailed down in one location rather than several localized points for future growth.

tbuelna, I think the rout is the least weighted of factors, it is more customs delays and tariffs.

The powers that be are bleedin' 'diots.

For only 200 weldments, you can get them faster, cheaper, and more reliably across town.

For 200,000? For 2,000,000 weldments? Maybe a different story.
