I am working with NX 8.5 and I'm trying to constrain a sketch to an intersection that I created from the step model I'm working with. When I click on the constraining tool it will not select the intersection sketch. What am I missing here?
Have a quick look at the selection scope in your selection bar, is it set to "active sketch only" and is the object you want outside the active sketch?
In NX7.5 the default selection scope was "within work part only".
It seems to have changed in NX8.5 to "within active sketch only" which actually isn't very useful at all, since in most "typical" models there is nothing outside the first sketch (so no problem), and all subsequent sketches are attached to geometry.
Does anyone know if there is a default that can be changed to return default sketch selection scope to "work part"?
Dialog Memory should remember what the 'Selection Scope' was the last time you created/edited a Sketch, at least that's how it's working in NX 9.0.2., which will be released very soon.
