I'm able to apply a hatch to cropped and broken views but you can't see it. I select the face and apply the hatch settings like normal. Whne I apply the hatch it disappears. SW says it there but you can't see it. unbreak or uncrop the view and it appears???? Getting on my nerves!!

Try adding the hatch before you crop or break.

Tried that. No Luck. Thanks for the suggestion.

Changing hatch size or type, does it have any influence?

Regards

SW 2005 SP0.1. No, I've tried changing settings, deleting and re-applying, adding hatch bfore making the detail (crop broken), adding hatch after making the detail (crop broken), converting edges and applying hatch to a closed contour. Nothing works. This has to be a bug. It dosen't happen on every part. It is however very fustrating. I've reported it to SW and I'm waiting for a reply.

Just curious, does solid fill (instead of line hatching)work?

In your other recent thread559-107544 you were having problems with parts of sketches disappearing ... this is typical of inappropriate graphic card & driver combinations. You mentioned that you were "running a supported video card on the newest driver". The newest driver is not always the best ... is it also tested & approved? Or is it just the latest driver produced by the card manufacturer?

[cheers]

I'm running an Nvidea FX500 with driver 6.14.10.5303

According tot he website this combination is supported by SW.

The solid hatch doesn't wotk either. My VAR is telling me this is working fine on their machine. It only does it on some files. Files I have converted form 2003 seem to be having the issue.

Try toggling Software OpenGL option in SW. Tools\Options\System options\Performance\ - You cannot have any files open.

If that doesn't fix it, then try turning your hardware acceleration down to none. Desktop - RMB\Properties\Settings\Advanced\Troubleshoot tab\ - Pull that slider all the way down.

Report here the results of both tests.

If you have a computer running SW2004 you could also try converting the SW2003 files to it first, then converting again to SW2005.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen. Software openGL and Turning down hardware acceleration had no effects. Still the same problem on 2 different machines.

Just heard from my VAR. This issue has been confirmed and SPR#228940 has been issued.

We have been having the same type of problem here at work. Two different computers with the same print. Our broken view had a cutout to expose the interior parts. When the print was started, the individual parts had their own hatch marks to match their material specification. When these prints were opened up the next day, the hatch marks were lost. Since one of the suggestions was the video card/driver, an engineer here had the thought that it might be a visual illusion. If you do a print preview, your hatch marks are visible and print out fine, it is just they are not visible on the screen. We have found no other way to get around this so far, even with the latest 03 spinoff.
hope this is of some help. Glad to see we are not the only ones seeing it.
