Hatch doesn't show in viewport 2

ACAD 2007, Put a solid hatch on an object in model space, shows fine, hatch doesn't show in paper space.

any ideas?

You may have an annotative scale(s) set for the hatch object, which does not match annotative scale for the viewport.

Changed it to a lined hatch, scaled so all the lines ran together.

Solids and solid hatches won't plot if your Viewport's Shade plot parameter is set to Hidden or 3DHidden (only the hatch outline will plot). This doesn't appear to affect visibility on the screen however.
