Harmonic Drive gear design text book? 1

Hello,

I am looking for a good text book that covers Harmonic Drive design well. I am specifically interested in gear/flex-spine design, given there is such a text out there. I appreciate any help. Thanks

I doubt there is a text book available. Another gear manufacturer told me that the splines are produced out of a solid piece by milling away any material not needed .

I believe that harmonic drive is proprietary technology. I suggest you contact the manufacturer.

Thanks, I have found some information in research papers. I found some equations, but I am trying to gain a better understanding. I would like to find more in depth information. A company had some patents on tooth design and those patents seem to be old. The harmonic drive was invented some 40 years ago, so I don't see how patents will be an issue. I'm sure there are currents patents to new designs improvements--correct me if I am wrong.
