i have a hand held vane shear test device (Pilco), but i think it needs a calibration, coz i'm not sure of the results i get. does anybody know how can i calibrate it?
thanx in advance, paolo

Best option would be to buy a new one, place the two end to end and check that they read the same. If the one you have is several years old and has been used considerably, it is likely that it needs replaced anyway. You could also compare the results from the hand vane to Qu or Q tests on the same material and see if the results make sense.
