Hand-arm vibration ANSI spec for lawn mowers

Hello,

Does anyone have an electronic copy of ANSI spec B175.3-1997 they could send me?

Also, does anyone know the recommended limit of ANSI weighted hand values?

Some of the technicians I work with say the limit is 5.0 m/s^2 but I'd like to confirm that.

5 ms-2 is not a good way of looking at it. The curves are frequency dependent, for a start. The good news is that 5 ms-2 is fairly conservative, based on BSI DD 43 1975, being about the 4 hour limit at 10 Hz, or 2 hours at 100 Hz. I guess a lawnmower runs at about 3000 rpm, and 2nd order is dominant, so figure on 100 Hz.

This is a damage limit, not a comfort limit, figure on 10-20 dB less for comfort.
