Can anyone cite a regulatory reference or dictate that prohibits the use of hammer union pipe for temporaryor permanent facility piping in oil and gas applications in Alberta (ABSA, AER, B31.3 or Z662). I know the systems are often used for manned completions operations, but can't seem to find any source that prohibits using this joining method for facility piping. At what point is temporary piping considered to have become permanent?
