Hall effects-reverse output voltage

I'm using Allegro A120x hall effect switches...one of the specs is something called Max Reverse Output Voltage( In this case it's -0.5V.

What does that mean and how do I not exceed it. I"m more mechanical so thus the question.

Exactly what it says. Do not reverse bias the output, or you'll damage the output transistor.
