Hi all
A little while ago we talked about batteries and hydrogen and fires. In that thread I said hydrogen fires burnt with a very pale blue to white flame. Aerospace (from memory apologies if not) corrected me that the hydrogen flame is colourless.
Yep I did check, I was wrong and I have to chew a suitable dose of humble pie.
Sorry & thanks to aerospace

In the years that hydrogen has been proposed as an alternative home fuel, one of the safety requirements has been that a mal-odorant, like what is used with the gas currently supplied to homes and called natural gas, be mixed in and that it give color to the flame.
