H13 tool steel

I am looking for an inexpensive metal that is stable at high temperatures (to 1500F). I was lookinf at Inconel 718, but they seem to be too expensive for my application. Looking at H13 tool steel, the price seems right, but does anyone know how it compares to Inconel 718 at high temperatures?

Neither of the metals mentioned in your post are suitable for use at 1500F.

Can you come back with a description of what you are attempting to do at this temperature and someone might be able to start you in the right direction.

I am looking for a material for the ball and seats for a metal seated ball valve. I will be boronizing them to increase the surface hardness, but I don't want a material that will "warp" with temperature fluctuations or at high temperatures because that will affect the sealing of the ball and seats. The maximum temperature that the valves will see is under 1200F, but I wanted to have a bit of a safety factor built in.
