I am reviewing the lateral strength of a mechanical enclosure that is comprised of light gauge stud walls with (2) ½” sheets of gypsum board on both faces. IBC table 2306.4.5 provides values for allowable shear forces for wood assemblies, but not light gauge metal. Does anyone know if these values are acceptable to be applied to light gauge steel framing?

No. The ICBO has a couple of reports done by Angeles Metals years ago for that application though that also includes plywood. Might start there.

In the 2003 IBC, Table 2211.2(2) is what you're looking for. These are nominal values, so be sure to add phi or omega as needed.

Interesting. Thanks nutte, you learn something new every day. In the 2006 IBC, Section 2210.5, it refers to AISI-Lateral.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the AISI Cold-Formed Steel manual hopefully there will be information in there as well.

It won't be very helpful for your topic. The AISI Lateral documents referenced in IBC 2006 are better.
