Guardrail Loads in 2009 IRC 1

I would swear it is in there. Does anyone know where the design load is specified for a Guardrail in the 2009 IBC? R312 doesn't specify a load. I believe it is 200# regardless of post spacing, which is less stringent than the IBC requirement.

I found it noteworthy that they had modified their joist spans for Southern Yellow Pine, presumably because the design values for that species was downgraded recently.

Thanks Archie263. 199 pounds it works out to. I will be generous and round up to 200#. I would swear it is somewhere in that disaster that is the IRC, just can't find it.

dcarr....the residential code is a subset of the building code, therefore covering only those items unique to residential. Guardrails are not unique and therefore covered under the building code. See Chapter 1 of both codes for applicability.
