When grouting to densify a deeper soil layer, what is the typical industry standard to watch during the procedure to see when the grouting is complete - intake rate, volume, pressure or something else? Is drilling after compaction usually the best way to see if the procedure worked or can you rely on the data recorded during the grouting process? Is their an industry standard for grout compaction (in the US) or reference someone can point me towards? Much appreciated.

ASCE’s Compaction Grouting Consensus Guide is a great starting point to learning about compaction grouting. I highly recommend it. It talks about the design and construction process and even provides a sample specification.

Confirmatory borings with continuous SPT or CPT is a good idea when doing ground improvement via compaction (ddc, ric, compaction grouting, etc.).

Thank you! Managed to find that ASCE guide at my office so will check it out.
