Grinding weld bead after repair steel tank

After sandblasting, I found the defect as small hole of roof plate. Should we grind the weld bead to smooth after welding at the hole? I understand that it is not mentioned in API 653. Please comment.

My experience with this has been many years ago.

So check first.

We would not grind the weld smooth. This was done so X-ray crews could do their inspection.
