I am operating a grinding ball mill size (6.1x(9.0M) for gold processing plant and having serious thrusts problems causing the fixed bearing axial guides bolts to shear off.
I will be pleased to share opinions on this matter as we go through our trouble shooting and find lasting solution to this problem.WHAT COULD CAUSE THE MILL TO THRUST SO SERIOUSLY? Three times the mill has gone down this year and each shut goes through 48 hours work.
Thanks

If you want answers, you have to be a lot clearer in your description including, power ,speed, load etc and finally, is this a new plant and if not, did it ever work?

1)I would suggest that you ask the manufacturer of the unit what the safe load parameters are, since you are obviously overloding the sytem either due to excessinve mass and/or the incorrect rotational speed.
2)Or you could do this experimentally and place accelerometers 180 degrees apart on the drum (or strain gauges)to infer the forces. Then adjust the speeds either up or down to reach a satisfactory thruput while calulating the shear forces on the bolts.
