Grease applied to Motor Bearing.

Hi Experts,

May I ask for normal equipment (point machine in railway), what are the type of grease that can be applied to the motor bearing?

Information:

Equipment placed: Viaduct
Temperature: Could be around 25 to 45 degree
Environment: Normal/High vibration due to train passes

Please let me know if you require more information.

Done a few of them in cold Sweden. Ice in the switches/points is the problem we have here. Normal grease used. They shouldn't operate very often - if it isn't a switch-yard. I do lots of bearing problems but have never seen any problem with the grease in these applications. And the infrequent operation may be a problem since the oil film will flow away under the static force. The balls may then be "hammered" into the raceway and make (small) dents if vibrations are severe. Klüber may have a good answer to your question. They have all sorts of special grease.
