What is the best way to calculate shoring in a new construction project?

Your title is "Grading", your subject is apparently "shoring", and your question is so vague that you can't expect any good answers.

I'm guessing you're asking about shoring up earth during an excavation? Can you give some heights/depths and lengths? More information would be helpful like what kind of construction, how much space you have, etc.
