Gradient thermal loads

could someone please share how I can apply a gradienbt thermal load to a slab using RISA?

Well, it can't be done in RISAFloor. That program is for commercial buildings, so you won't find a lot of the general purpose analysis features (like thermal loading) that you get in RISA-3D. RISAFloor can be used for many industrial structures.... just keep in mind that the program was not developed with those structures in mind. Therefore, you may very well run into some limitations.

If you are trying to do this in RISA-3D, then you may be able to do it. You'd want to model your slab using a mesh of plate elements. Then you can apply plate surface loads (with a load direction of T for thermal) to those plates. That will allow you to apply thermal loads to certain areas of the slab. If you've got a gradient then you will probably have to vary the thermal load as you move accross the mesh.... i.e. apply a 90F load to one row of plates, an 80F load to the next row, then 70F, et cetera.
