Hey gang,
The president of my company has discussed with me his desire to get into different areas of technical inspection. His first thought is GPR.
I know the concept of GPR, the different applications (structural, bridge, utility, roadways, etc.) it can be used for, and the pros of using this device as opposed to others such as pacometers.
My question is this:
To those of you who have purchsed and used GPR, which is your favorite brand/type and why? I have looked at GSSI's equipment, and it seems impressive, but I was just wondering what else was out there.
Additionally, is it really beneficial to purchase used GPR equipment, or just buy new with the warranty? From what I've seen, the savings would only be approximately 20% at the very most, which in my opinion the warranty outweighs the 20% savings any day of the week.
We would most likely use this equipment for rebar and conduit mapping in concrete, and for locating utilities in various cities and towns.
