Good software to draw PFDs? Exvept visio...the most handy and easy one

autocad is too much for PFDs!
of course, you can go to the grocery with either a ferrari or a bike...
anything free?

I'm guessing napkins are probably OK if your documenting your invention of a time machine, but process flow diagrams (PFDs) in reports probably cry out for something that looks like it came from a CAD program.

TTFN (ta ta for now)
I can do absolutely anything. I'm an expert! faq731-376 forum1529 Entire Forum list

@irstuff: thank you! better to know/hear/discuss personal advices of "experts" than googling :-)
@itsmoked: you're (partially) right but please consider this is the "chemical process engineering" forum. in our world, PFD is a well known / unique acronym :-)

The New Version of Excel for Office 365 with Smart Shapes draws very nice Process Flows Diagrams and allows you to group complex shapes to create unit operations. This software allows you to draw a process flow diagram and perform a basic mass and energy balance with recycle streams. It also has some pre-built process equipment shapes in Excel that are free.
