Glycerine crystallization

I have a problem in a sealed area with glycerin forming white chunks in a liquid filled gage. The are white and seem to sray around the clear gasket by the window. It feels like grainy crystals and it clings to the metal wall in two places. Looing for ideas of what could possibly cause it.

It is corrosion products of the aluminum parts inside the gage, like dial scale or pointer. I've seen pointer completely disintegrate.

Is it contamination in the aluminum parts or in the glycerin?

Its mainly moisture and other contamination in the glycerin, I imagine. It would certainly depend on how pure it was to start with. I had some pressure gages that were stored in the original packaging and never used. They disintegrated after 20 years.
