Greetings,

I am setting up an aerodynamic model of the Global Hawk UAV. I have looked extensively for the type of flaps used on the Global Hawk, but haven't found anything definitive.

Is there anyone that knows the flap type on the Global Hawk UAV?

It doesn't appear that the flaps go both up and down, maybe separate flaps altogether.

Thanks IRstuff,

What you are seeing in this picture is the inboard and outboard spoilers. It's interesting that this vehicle has split surfaces on all of the controls.

I have never seen a picture of this vehicle with flaps (of any kind) extended.

If you wander around on the web, there's a couple of line drawings of the GH that seem to imply additional control surfaces, but this is the only picture I saw with any control surfaces visible.

Yeah, it's hard to distiguish between technical representation and art...

Good pics IR. I am coming to the conclusion that this vehicle does not have flaps. I have not seen any pictures, or references to high lift devices.

I found an article that mentioned the failed actuator rod. Evidently, they had a control rod failure in one of the ruddervators...
