Hi,
I need to know the bursting pressure of both laminated glass (100mmOD,3mm thk) and Toughened glass (100mmOD,3mm thk).
Do I need to do the test myself and find out or would this information be available with glass manufacturers / reference books etc.

Thanks in advance.

You can get the mechanical properties and burst pressure equation (for fused silica glass tubing and windows at

GE has some online calculators for thickness of quartz glass pressure vessels and viewing windows. Example #1, for 100 mm diameter tube and 3 mm thickness, allowable pressure is 30 psi. Example #2, for 100 mm (unsupported portion of diameter), a 3 mm thickness can only withstand 3 psi. These are for a max. design stress level of 1000 psi.
Imagine that you can make a proportional adjustment according to the physical properties of whatever glass you are using.
