I have a very large .MOD file (3GB) that is taking forever to load and save. The original reason that it was so big is because all steps of a random analysis were saved in the results. I have deleted these but the file has not shrunk at all. Is there any way to reduce this file size?

Maybe try replacing your IT guy with one who realizes a terabyte drive si worth $75. Problem solved? It's just not worth your time.

Once upon deleted results you must issue command "File > Rebuilt", this will compact FEMAP database and next time you save your model it will have a very reduced size.

By the way, 3 GB is nothing, I have modal transient models (SOL112) with 8 GBytes ....

Best regards,
Blas.

Thank you Blas. That was the solution I was looking for. The problem I had wasn't the space, It was taking 10 minutes to save.
