Getting error “Failed to load image- see log for details” when execute my .dll or exe

Hello Guys,

I have started to learn NXOpen Customization (NX8.0.3 and .NET C#) and started with small Apps but unable to execute them in NX8 it throws an error “Failed to load image- see log for details”. I tried to look for the solution and got bit & piece of information like proper combination of .net Frame work version should used with NX8, but I didn't find right combination which .NET Framework to be used with NX8. I have tried FrameWork 2, 3, 3.5 and 4 when creating new project, and when build the app with FrameWork 2, 3 or 3.5, getting no. of errors but if used FrameWork 4 my build looks fine and no error listed but when execute the .dll or exe in NX8 (File --> Execute --> NXOpen) I see this error “Failed to load image- see log for details” on my NX8 screen.

Please help me on this issue.

Did you use caspol to add the nx installation to the trusted site locations?

Do you have an author license? If so, did you remember to sign your .dll or .exe file?

Take a look at the last chapter of the "Getting Started with SNAP" guide. Especially the section entitled "Failed to Load Image". This guide is about the SNAP API, but much of it applies to NX/Open, also. As it explains there, this error is usually a result of 32/64 bit confusion. If that doesn't solve your problem, try looking at the last 50 lines or so of the syslog. A brief intro to reading syslogs is also included in the last chapter of the SNAP guide.
