Generator is a 170 MVA, GE, 3600 RPM machine commissioned in 1957. Retorqued Generator Core Compression Flange Nuts in 2000. Generator lead box recently opened and a nut with a piece of the stud was found. End bells off and one of the 24 keybar nuts is gone!
Is there any similar condition that anyone knows of?
We are pulling H2 coolers to view keybar to section plate welds which may be broken.
If we repair what we can see (the keybar threaded section so far) what do you think are the likely consequences of a Keybar failure? Can we run for 2 years?

Thanks for any help,
Jack
