I got a difficulty to prove, regarding AC Synchronous Generator Performance Class 1-4 as per NEMA MG1 description. Which class utilizes excitation system having static, brushless, PMG, etc? Are these classes relative to excitation system or simply specific only to governor response regardless the type of excitation? Comments are very well appreciated.
