GEC Generator

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some info for a generator we have installed here. We have had a lot of issues finding the data and I now think some one with a "sister" alternator may be able to assist.

Does anyone out there know of a machine such as this installed any where?

Many thanks for your question. I am after torsional data for the rotor. WR2, stiffness, material etc. we were orginally given a copy of the design pack with this generator, but it was lost in a fire some 15years ago. I am hoping to find someone with a gene the same out there as surely more that one of these would have been produced, and hopefully speak with the owners.

For the material I would suggest that a metallurgical analysis be performed. My reason for this is that too many times the drawings say one thing but thwe test results indicate something else. I have run into this all too often.
On the WR2, there was a recent posting on some software that would calculate this info. You might have better luck with that than using someone elses machine info. Not that you should'nt (certainly as a guide). Sorry I can't be of more help.

Suggestion: If Witton Works UK manufactured GE Co. UK alternator, it probably had a license to manufacture it as a part of GEC. All documentation will then be within GEC.
