can you please tell me if i can get the diameter of a gear by knowing the number of teeth.
and is there a site where can i get more info a bout gears

yOU CAN GET THE DIAMETER OF A GEAR IF YOU KNOW THE NUMBER OF TEETH PROVIDED THAT YOU ALSO KNOW THE DIAMETRAL PITCH, OR METRIC MODULE. LOTS OF BASIC MECHANICAL DESIGN TEXTBOOKS HAVE THE EQUATIONS YOU NEED. A GOOD CATALOG, SUCH AS BOSTON GEAR'S, WILL ALSO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO ANSWER A QUESTION LIKE THIS ONE.

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT GEARS, CONSULT A GOOD GEAR REFERENCE FRO AUTHORS LIKE DUDLEY, OR BUCKINGHAM, OR OTHERS.

TO GET THE GEAR OUTSIDE DIAMETER DIVIDE THE (NUMBER OF TEETH + 2) BY THE DIAMETRAL PITCH.
