I'm looking for a gearbox for a 4000 HP motor. Does anyone have any suggested vendors that i can work with? Preferably, I'd love to find a used gearbox that can handle this power. I'd appreciate any info on suppliers that may carry used boxes.

Thanks and best regards,
nick

Finding a gearbox in this size range to match an existing service is going to be a good trick. To get a box for the correct input speed, gear ratio, rotation, horsepower, and center-to-center distance would be nearly impossible. You might be able to accomodate a different centerline height with spacers or base modifications. Any of the major gearbox manufacturers should be able to build you a box. But, it won't be quick or cheap. I would consider Lufkin Gear in Texas. If you have an old box (even if it is destroyed), you could probably get it repaired faster than gettting a new one custom built.
