Hello everyone,

I haven't done this manually since I graduated. Is there anyone who can help me with this simple calculation, please?

Two screw gears that run together have radii of 6" and 8" respectively. The angle between their axes is 60 degrees and their threads make equal angles. If the gear of 6" radius has 36 teeth, calculate the normal circular pitch and the number of teeth on the gear of 8" radius.

Sounds like a homework problem. Are you writing an exam? If so, probably you're in the wrong forum.

Thank you for answering, Cockroach.

It's not a homework, I am trying to re-educate myself. Do you know anything about this kind of calculations?

Regards.

Hello CorBlimeyLimey,

Thanks a lot for the useful links! You saved me hours of internet research I believe, thanks again!
