I would like to ask about currently having a GE FANUC Series 90-30 PLC, the problem is it already locked with password and unable to access in. I am sure there is no any method to reset the password, is there any software or any idea to unlock the password?
THANKS!

Remove the battery and short the 'super-cap' on the CPU, that will set the CPU back to factory defaults (i.e - No Password.) New CPUs label a set of solder tabs 'CLR-MEM' for this. Then download your own program without a password.
This SHOULD be the ONLY way.

Just a warning - the kind of factory reset described above also restores the application memory to 'factory default' i.e. empty. Make sure you have a copy of your application program before attempting this!

This also tells me that the application is not stored in a genuine flash or EAROM memory. Since lithium battery is what 8 to 10 years if the power is left on all the time I should expect to have to replace the battery. In a 1 or 2 shift per day factory where the machines are turned off expect shorter battery life.

What I have done with some of my computers is to replace the lithium cell holder with a pair of wires that go to my own battery holder and a small electrolytic capacitor so that I can change the battery without losing the setup. I have found that three 1.5 volts AA cells in series will work in place of a 3-volt lithium battery. One way to do this is to modify a 4 cell holder so that one of the slots contains the electrolytic capacitor and the other 3 slots act as a 3 cell holder.

A variation on this is to wire two 2 cell holders in parallel so that there can be overlapping battery changeout. 4 AAA cells in series parallel seems to work over say a 2 or 3 year period. Same thing would work for a critical programmable controller by hacking in 2 external battery holders.

All 90-30 CPU's have at least 20 minustes of capacitance built in. i.e With out power the capacitors will hold the RAM for at least 20 minutes. Alternativly all 90-30 CPU's are designed that you can safely change the battery while power is connected.
