For a tent-like structure such as a gazebo which is open on the bottom but has canvas walls which can be open or zipped together to become closed, what is the best configuration for withstanding high winds?

A: Walls zipped tightly closed blocking more wind from entering but effectively creating lateral surface to push against acting like "sails"?

or

B: Walls open allowing more wind to pass through?

This particular structure has a vent at the top for wind to pass through.

I can provide a picture if needed. The gazebo is on a deck and adjacent to a house.

I would think option B personally. Although if the gazebo is sufficiently tied down and installed with anchor pegs or as otherwise specified by the manufacturer then it should work.

The gusts were strong last night in central Minnesota and it still stands. I went with option B as well and it seemed right to me as well.

Thanks!
