Hi,

I’m designing a gate valve with ball screw application with balance stem application.
I have calculated the total thrust force acting on the system. Now, whats would be the effect of dynamic load and static load on the total thrust?
I know dynamic load s the load beyond which the ball screw may fail provides by ball screw supplier. What abt the static load ? Is it the total load that the ball screw can with stand? So, my total thrust should not exceed the dynamic and static loads. Please correct if I’m right. Thanks

Why?
Are you in school and this is actually an Individual student or Class Project?
Has there been any preliminary design drawings made yet?
Where will the "Ball" be in a Gate Valve?
What size will this Gate Valve be?
What about a proposed Design Pressure?
What about a proposed Design Temperature?
What is the proposed Commodity?

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
