GASKET COMPATIBILITY

I need to select a suitable gasket to be used in a pipeline transporting either soya/rapeseed oil or biodiesel.Any advice please.

Hi amanites

in order of suitability:

Furon

PTFE coated rubber

Goretex

Viton


hope this helps.

Do not use EPDM or something similar.

Viton or NBR might be okay.

If you use rubber with a PTFE around it, please note that the PTFE will deform when pressed together, so it can not be used for connections that need to be opened every now and then.
